Here’s a quick tip guide I wrote on how to be a better designer using GrahamPhisher.com. It covers why you should post your work, a helpful tip on reading tutorials, and why inspiration is important.
1. Post Your Work
Its important to post your work on forums to get constructive feedback, so you can know what you need to improve on. It doesn’t matter what people think about your work, and its important to not think like “Oh i’ll post my work when i get better”, because your most likely not going to get better if your not getting real constructive feedback. I’ve been posting my work on forums since I was 14, and I can say it definitely helps. GrahamPhisher.com even has its own section that allows artists to post their work which you can find here,

2. A Tip On Reading Tutorials
When reading tutorials, its not the end result that matters, its the steps. What I mean is that its important to take notice of each step, and the changes that take place after each step, so you can apply that step to other design work. Try and think of a tutorial as more of a tour of Photoshop. If you want to find a good list of tutorials, once again grahamphisher.com has that which you can find here,

3. Inspiration
Looking at other artist’s work can keep designer’s block away, spark new ideas for your own work, and can inspire you to keep designing. Its smart to find a couple artists that you can look up to, and set a goal for yourself to be as good as them one day. GrahamPhisher.com has a inspiration section that features some of the best artists on the web, which you can view at the following link,
